Director - Regionalization & Transformation - International Banking

Purpose

Lead and supervise the IB Commercial Regionalization & Transformation area, and ensure that business strategies, plans and initiatives are carried out or complied with in accordance with current internal regulations, policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:

Lead the implementation of the Regional Commercial Banking Operating Model, defining the As-Is operating models and assisting with the definition of the To-Be Operating model by defining value-driven objectives, analyzing As-Is operating models, and identifying optimization opportunities with target KPIs. This includes redesigning processes and activities, defining required roles and structures, determining necessary systems and tools for implementation, establishing governance models with clear decision-making levels, and creating performance metrics to evaluate results against objectives.

Leadership and Strategy Execution

  • Lead the Transformation Team in executing operating model changes, coaching them to effectively analyze As-Is processes, design To-Be solutions, and implement governance frameworks while fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with C-level executives and senior stakeholders to align transformation initiatives with business objectives, secure buy-in for proposed changes, and ensure the To-Be operating model creates measurable value for the organization.
  • Drive strategic decision-making by synthesizing insights from multiple workstreams, prioritizing initiatives based on value creation, and adjusting transformation roadmaps to address emerging business needs while maintaining focus on target outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across business units, and other support functions to facilitate smooth implementation of new processes, roles, and systems while managing resistance to change through effective communication and engagement strategies.

Implement Solutions and Co-Develop New Work and Operating Models

  • Provide oversight for operating model transformations, ensuring alignment between To-Be models and organizational strategy while monitoring value creation across initiatives.
  • Establish decision-making processes, enabling effective prioritization and resource allocation of transformation initiatives.
  • Guide transformation teams in developing change strategies and stakeholder engagement approaches while building sustainable transformation capabilities.

Identify Improvement Opportunities and Prioritize Actions

  • Oversee value quantification and business case development process, ensuring robust hypothesis validation and analysis methodologies.
  • Guide the assessment of transformation initiatives and solutions, ensuring impact measurement frameworks align with strategic objectives.
  • Direct initiative prioritization strategy based on business value potential, validating alignment with organizational needs and resources.

Project Alignment and Execution

  • Guide stakeholders, business and functional leaders in aligning transformation objectives and success criteria, ensuring clear execution plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee collaboration between transformation teams and project members, ensuring effective execution and value capture strategies.
  • Direct stakeholder engagement strategy, identifying and managing key relationships essential for transformation success across the organization.

Change Management and Monitoring

  • Co-lead the definition and implementation of change management programs to ensure the adoption of new work methods.
  • Monitor and communicate progress and potential impediments in project execution.
  • Report progress and escalate potential obstacles for resolution.

Team Development and Leadership

Ensure the development of skills and competencies within the Regionalization & Transformation Directorate team to meet objectives.

  • Lead large teams by:
    • Lead teams of people including direct reports and stakeholders' teams.
    • Define priorities and action plans for the team.
    • Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
    • Develop team members' analytical, communication, and execution capabilities.
    • Provide continuous feedback on team members' performance.
    • Define actions to enhance team members' skills based on their strengths and improvement areas.

Responsible for providing induction to the position to each new contributor to the team, providing general information about the Bank, as well as explaining its job description, key roles and objectives in order for the collaborator to place their role within the Bank by strengthening their sense of belonging and reduce the time of the learning curve.

Understands the Bank's risk culture and how risk appetite should be considered in daily activities and decisions.

Creates an environment where your team performs efficient and effective operations in their respective areas, while ensuring compliance and effectiveness of daily business controls in order to comply with obligations aimed at reducing operational risk, the risk of regulatory noncompliance, the risk of money laundering and financing of terrorism and conduct risk.

Promotes a high-performance environment and implements a strategy for the workforce that attracts, retains, develops and motivates your team.

What You'll Bring:

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required.
  • Postgraduate studies preferred (e.g., Master's in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Operations Research).

Experience

  • 10+ years of work experience.
  • Extensive experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis and development of business cases.
  • Experience in transformation projects and initiative implementation.
  • Experience in consulting projects.
  • Development of business cases.
  • Definition of operational models.

Skills

  • Leadership and team management and development proven expertise.
  • High proficiency analytical and problem-structuring capabilities.
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communications.
  • Strong delivery & Stakeholder Management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI).
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Work Arrangement:

The job is performed in a standard office environment, involving visits to business partners and different buildings within the same city or in other countries. Visits will be conducted based on project needs.
