Purpose:

We are looking for a Director, Project Management to join our Calgary office. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management / project engineering leadership experience in the oil & gas sector, on behalf of an engineering firm.

Responsibilities:

1. Planning & prioritizing project tasks to support the project schedule.
2. Identifying and managing project and contractual risks and opportunities.
3. Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholders including global integrated delivery (GID) team.
4. Reporting of cost, schedule, progress, and performance to senior management.
5. Review and analyze alternatives and options to deliver value through the project scope.
6. Leading, coaching, and directing multi-disciplined engineering & support teams in all phases of project execution.
7. Developing relationships with customers and vendors.
8. Maintaining comprehensive project documents and reports.
9. Championing safety, well-being, sustainability, and management of change processes.
10. Limited travel to site or other locations as required.

Technical and Industry Experience:

1. Extensive project management experience on high-value oil & gas capital projects. Preference to candidates with significant work experience on middle east-based oil & gas capital projects.
2. Comprehensive understanding of project execution, project management and project control methodologies.
3. Full life cycle project management experience (FEED to Commissioning).
4. Comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle for high-value gas processing and/or heavy oil projects.
5. Previous middle east oil & gas project experience is strongly preferred.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Strong people skills supported by effective decision making and influential negotiation skills.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

1. A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
2. Leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and provide oversight to multiple capital oil & gas capital projects.
3. Previous experience on middle eastern gas processing or heavy oil projects is heavily preferred.
