Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.
What you will be doing:
As the Director of Product & Channel Strategy, you will lead the design and continuous improvement of the Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) strategy. This will include overseeing the scope and design of the products offered and their positioning to clients through marketing initiatives. Leveraging data and market insights, you will define the methods and sales channels for delivering RESL products, ensuring alignment with client preferences. Additionally, you will steer the business toward profitable, sustainable growth while balancing financial performance, client experience, operational capabilities, and market trends.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Lead the process to establish and evolve the Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) strategy. Collaborate with the leadership team and partners across the Bank to define the business line strategy and implement key initiatives that unlock full business potential.
- Define and optimize the business mix across sales channels. Assess channel costs and profitability, identify target client segments, and determine the role of each channel—mortgage brokers, Home Financing Advisors, branch, and digital. Drive initiatives to achieve the optimal channel mix.
- Monitor market trends, consumer preferences, competitive dynamics, and third-party solutions. Integrate these insights into the RESL strategy while identifying and championing high-potential opportunities with leadership.
- Establish a comprehensive product management framework encompassing product strategy, financial and product performance measurement, process and technology oversight, and client experience to products such as Secured Lines of Credit, the Scotia Total Equity Plan, the Scotia Mortgage+ Program, and specialty mortgage offers including the Professional Program, Net-Worth Program, Builder Cap, and Business-for-Self.
- Partner with the Canadian Banking Marketing team to align marketing initiatives with the business context and strategy. Review and approve marketing plans, define product positioning, and oversee the RESL marketing budget, ensuring its effective deployment through Canadian Banking Marketing.
- Define the RESL digital roadmap. Set ambitions for digital sales and servicing activities, collaborating with technology, operations, sales, and experience teams to achieve alignment and execution. Establish the strategy for eHOME, the digital sales channel.
- Enhance support for branch network mortgage sales capabilities. Develop sales tools, training materials, and sales resources, and partner with Retail Distribution teams to create a feedback loop that identifies focus areas and drives capability enhancement.
- Champion and track progress on transformation initiatives within the business. These initiatives may include third-party partnerships, digitization, operating model changes, and prioritization.
Do you have the skills to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
