What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC's Human Resources (HR) team, the Director, People Change Management is a seasoned change professional responsible for overseeing CIBC's Enterprise Change Hub to build change capability and deliver consistent change methodology and practices across our bank. The Director leads a small and specialized team to engage with change practitioners throughout the organization through a growing community of practice, and plays a key role in providing support on complex strategic initiatives.

Key accountabilities include: supporting change management efforts on transformational initiatives, providing end-to-end change support on complex enterprise-wide initiatives, building our change community of practice and evolving the enterprise change function to provide strategy and guidance about people change across the bank.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Change management – Lead and govern CIBC’s People Change Hub. Develop and deliver change strategy and approach. Partner with business-unit change practitioners to advise. Focus on accelerating the adoption of change to equip leaders to lead change effectively and establish change management as a core competency at CIBC.
  • Strategy – Conduct external market research to identify change management and workforce opportunities. Translate the research into insights to create a compelling narrative and recommendation that will inform and drive how we can incorporate findings into our practice.
  • Analytics - Perform data analysis and develop data models to identify and support change management opportunities and identify business efficiencies. Conduct in-depth reviews of the data in order to derive insights and provide recommendations in relation to change development or execution opportunities to support executive decision making.
  • Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to write communications, key messages, storyboard, develop whitepaper recommendations and strategic and impactful presentations using PowerPoint. You have a proven track record in creating materials meant to be shared at Executive Forums and are skilled in using Microsoft’s suite of products.
  • Effective Delivery and Managing Through Change – You take a holistic view to change management on large, transformational programs. You drive, manage and execute projects and initiatives with a focus on change management while supporting the business goals, objectives and outcomes. You build and implement strategic roadmaps, embedding change management methodology, to deliver relevant tools and change tactics that provide the right level of engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Relationship Building – You forge strong relationships with various teams, by working with internal and external partners.
