Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced professional to lead our Packaging Development and Sustainability strategy efforts. This role will be pivotal in leading the strategic development and execution of our sustainability and packaging initiatives that support our brand's growth objectives, enhance guest experiences, and align with our Brand commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create Tim Hortons Canada & US sustainability strategy and roadmap orchestrating initiatives execution across our pillars. Adapt plans and strategies based on emerging risks and trends.
- Develop and implement packaging strategies that align with Tim Hortons' brand identity, product offerings, and sustainability goals.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in the design, development, and testing of packaging solutions to support menu innovation.
- Drive innovation in packaging materials, formats, and technologies to improve functionality, reduce environmental impact, and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Vendor management to negotiate and align on product specifications and design parameters and patents, materials.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, tracking key milestones and deliverables.
- Work closely with Government Affairs to understand and comply with regulatory changes impacting our business.
- Stay informed of industry trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory requirements related to packaging materials, design, and sustainability.
- Work cross-functionally to implement solutions to advance our strategies following our commercialization process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Food Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading packaging development and sustainability-related roles within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a quick-service restaurant environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in packaging materials, design principles, and manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on food safety and quality.
- Proven track record of leading successful sustainability projects from concept to commercialization, with a keen understanding of consumer insights and market trends.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards governing food packaging, including relevant certifications and sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with a creative mindset, analytical prowess, and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
