Job Summary
The position of Director of Sales is responsible to lead and manage the Ontario Sales team to ensure the team meets the revenue targets, while continuing to develop and coach the sales team.
Organizational Status
This position will provide support to the EVP of Business Development to manage the department staff and their objectives while providing strategic sales plans that meet the company objectives of growth and development for the sales department.
Key Responsibilities:
Meet with potential clients and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships with sales representatives.
Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
Assist in creating strategies and plans for accounts and new business opportunities.
Recruit, set objectives, coach and monitor performance of sales representatives.
Develop sales team through coaching, motivation and service/organizational knowledge and education.
Conduct regular weekly one-on-ones with Sales Representatives.
Ensure the organization’s expectations/KPIs are clearly communicated with each Sales Representative.
Review and approve expense reports and requisitions.
Help Sales Representatives identify verticals/opportunities to successfully target and prospect.
Review and analyze weekly Sales Representative budgets vs individual pipelines.
Measure monthly Sales Representative performance.
Work closely and collaborate with various departments of the organization to ensure all customer requirements are in place.
Monitor market conditions and competition services/offerings, etc.
Conduct yearly performance reviews of the Sales Team.
Ensure and reinforce CRM compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of sales management experience.
Bachelor’s or college degree in business, sales or marketing.
Previous Transportation, Warehousing, Freight and/or Parcel experience is preferred.
Proven track record of success throughout the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Office suite and Google sites.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong work ethic.
Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
Superb leadership abilities.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel.
Proven track record of building and maintaining business relationships.
