  • Job #22332

Are you a hands-on health and safety leader ready to make a meaningful impact? Whether you come from transportation, construction, or an industrial environment, this is your opportunity to bring your experience to a company where safety is more than a program — it’s a core value.

We’re exclusively recruiting for our client, a well-established Canadian transportation and logistics company, to find their next Director of Health, Safety & Environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

Reporting to the Vice-President, you’ll lead the strategic direction of health, safety, environment, training, compliance, and claims across multiple provinces and business units — from rail to over-the-road operations.

You’ll be supported by two experienced HSE Managers and their teams and work closely with Vice-Presidents and operational leaders to embed a safety-first culture and unify safety efforts across the organization.

Whether you’re currently in transportation or bring deep health & safety leadership from construction or an industrial setting, this is your chance to take ownership of an HSE portfolio and help shape its future.

  • HSE Strategy – Build and evolve a safety-first culture across business units in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
  • Training & Compliance – Develop and oversee driver training programs and ensure consistent compliance across operations.
  • Claims & Licensing – Manage insurance, licensing, and claims to mitigate risk and protect business relationships.
  • Team Development – Lead and coach two HSE Managers and their teams to promote consistency, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Operational Integration – Partner with leadership to tailor safety strategies to each unit’s unique needs and challenges.

MUST HAVES :

  • You bring leadership experience in Health & Safety, ideally from transportation, construction, or industrial settings.
  • You’re a hands-on leader — visible, approachable, and comfortable working closely with drivers, operators, and frontline teams.
  • You’ve built or enhanced HSE programs that align with operational goals and lead to real cultural change.
  • You’re a confident communicator who builds trust across all levels of the organization.
  • You’re tech-savvy and business-minded, with a sharp eye for improving systems, training, and risk management.
  • You’re open to traveling regularly across the Prairie provinces to stay connected to your teams and operations.

WHY WORK HERE?

  • Reputable & Growing – Join a trusted name in Canadian logistics, with a strong foundation and bold plans for growth.
  • High-Impact Role – Lead and shape the company’s HSE strategy and culture with full support from executive leadership.
  • Career-Defining Opportunity – Take ownership of a vital portfolio and leave your personal mark.
  • Collaborative Culture – Be part of a people-focused company that encourages new ideas and continuous improvement.
  • Lucrative compensation package with bonus, profit sharing, RRSPs, and continuous education.
