The Merchandise team lives and breathes all things product! We collectively work together to get the right product for our stores and ultimately our guests.

A day in the life:

The Director, Global Merchandising leads the global women’s merchandising team and drives the creation of assigned product categories that grow the brand through our design vision while delivering best in class sales, inventory and margin results. Responsibilities include:

  1. Designing and managing the global merchandising strategy for all product categories.
  2. Executing a line plan of assigned product categories to deliver our design vision, sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals across all channels.
  3. Driving the delivery of our omni-channel product assortment and digital growth strategies.
  4. Managing the product lifecycle and go-to-market process of assigned product categories through effective teamwork and partnership with all Product teams.
  5. Leading the seasonal line planning process and style count in partnership with Design, Development, and Planning for seasonal alignment.
  6. Driving pricing architecture for the assigned product categories, collaborating with other Directors of Merchandising and Design to ensure consistency across the brand.
  7. Collaborating closely with international buying teams to ensure regional needs are incorporated into the global line plan.
  8. Partnering with all cross-functional teams outside of Product to ensure the design vision is delivered to our guests.
  9. Informing the Design team with strategic insight and identifying additional product assortment or business growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a merchant/buyer role, with 5 years management experience.
  • Vertical retail experience required; omni-channel experience highly desirable.
  • Mastery of retail mathematics and Open to Buy.
  • Proven ability to work with and lead a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written, and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; self-starter approach with eagerness to exceed objectives.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to make decisions and take calculated risks.
  • Focus on creating an extraordinary guest experience, with organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international) and work on the retail floor.

Compensation and Benefits Package:

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy. The typical hiring range for this position is from CAD $185,800 - 243,800 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.

Workplace arrangement:

This role is classified as hybrid under our SSC Workplace Policy. In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
