About Us

The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects (ICCE) is an Indigenous-led and exclusively Indigenous-serving organization that supports Indigenous communities in addressing cumulative effects through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Our primary objective is to build and enhance the technical and scientific capacity of Indigenous communities across Canada, based on the values of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. As a resource, we provide funding for community-led projects, share knowledge, and link Indigenous communities together, working towards intergenerational decision-making and partnership building. Our team works internally and externally within our Ways of Being.

About You

You are a seasoned leader with extensive experience in Finance and Information Technology (IT). You’re most proficient in financial oversight, balancing day-to-day management with long-term strategic objectives. Skilled in working in a technology-driven environment, you’re adept at using digital tools to enhance productivity and achieve organizational goals. You are a team player, collaborator, and visionary that can lead ICCE’s financial portfolio and IT infrastructure.

  • Financially Proficient: Excellent experience is managing operational budgets, grant financial management, other funding streams, and preparing financial documents for the ICCE Board of Directors.

About the Role

The Director of Finance and IT is a senior position responsible for overseeing the Finance and IT functions of our non-profit. You will be responsible for the fiscal integrity of ICCE by working with ICCE’s service provider and the Board Secretary-Treasurer to provide clear and consumable financial statements that accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization. You will utilize your demonstrated IT experience, including Cyber Security, to support our virtual / remote organization by recommending appropriate software and hardware to realize efficiencies and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Oversight: Manage the Finance and IT functions.
  • Resource Allocation and Budget Control: Oversee budgeting and the allocation of resources, focusing especially on financial management and oversight.
  • Ensure staff are onboarded and offboarded from ICCE’s platforms and hardware.
  • Build an IT roadmap and/or strategy that maps the current state to future state that ensures efficiencies and sustainability (i.e., ICCE currently has a mix of Microsoft and Google products, as well as Windows and Apple devices).
  • Stakeholder and Partners Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners, including government bodies, Indigenous communities, and funders.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead the financial strategies in a way that are conducive to working with Indigenous communities nationally.
  • Risk Management: Implement and maintain adequate policies and procedures to protect the organization from legal and operational risks.
  • Service Provider Management: Administer and oversee fractional managed service providers to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and quality service delivery.
  • Ensure the ICCE team understands the financial and IT processes and has the training/support needed to use the systems in a consistent and efficient way.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in senior management roles with similar organizations, demonstrating deep experience in administering Finance and IT teams.
  • At least 10 years of relevant career experience in managing both financial and IT portfolios.
  • High degree of technological proficiency is essential, given the fully digital nature of our operational processes.
  • MBA or CPA desirable or equivalent experience.
