Job Title: Director of Finance

Our client is a leading manufacturer of advanced ultrasound equipment designed for quality assurance of industrial spot welds. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join their executive team and drive their financial strategy as they continue to grow and expand their global operations.
Position Summary:
The Director of Finance will oversee the financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing financial strategies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting decision-making across departments, and driving financial efficiency and compliance. This role will work closely with the COO and other executive team members to support the company’s growth and financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Assess and manage financial risks and opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Monitor key financial metrics, analyze performance, and provide insights for improvement.
- Work with accountants to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial statements.
Operations & Cost Management:
- Oversee accounting, payroll, and finance operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Manage cash flow and optimize working capital.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of professional growth and accountability.
- Develop and implement best practices in financial operations.
- Support ongoing development of the finance team.
- Collaborate with external vendors as necessary.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all financial laws and company policies.
- Collaborate with the COO on insurance, banking, and investment matters.
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the executive team.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential financial risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or CFA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that support business goals.
- Experience with financial and ERP software; proficiency in Sage preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
- An understanding of international finance is preferred, particularly with US and German markets.
