Job Title: Director of Business Development - Chemical Sales

Location: Toronto, ON

About the Role

Adecco, in partnership with our client, is currently hiring a full-time experienced Director of Business Development specializing in Chemical Sales to manage and grow client relationships within Canada. This role involves driving sales, identifying opportunities, and providing expert support to clients. If you have a strong technical understanding of chemicals and excellent relationship-building and sales skills, we are looking for you!

Responsibilities

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth.
  2. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the assigned territory.
  3. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends, competitive activities, and customer needs.
  4. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of chemical products and applications, advising clients on product selection, benefits, and usage.
  5. Provide technical guidance to clients, troubleshooting issues and offering product recommendations that meet their needs.
  6. Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close sales deals effectively.
  7. Maintain accurate sales forecasts and report regularly on sales performance, market conditions, and customer feedback.

Qualifications

  1. Proven track record of successful new business development in one of the chemicals, ingredients, or fertilizer industries.
  2. Experience in identifying, researching, and presenting new technologies and market opportunities is highly regarded.
  3. Self-motivated, passionate about sales, and able to work in a diverse cultural environment.
  4. Ability to manage and maintain close relationships with senior management and other business units within the organization, suppliers, manufacturers, logistic services, and present/future customers.
  5. Immaculate verbal and written communication, interpersonal/relationship development skills, and computer literacy.
  6. MUST have a minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience within the chemical, food ingredients, agricultural, and/or personal care distribution industry.
  7. Initially working from home with the view to work out of a newly established sales office as the team builds.
