The Role

This position is within a business unit that has multiple and varied responsibilities, including investment performance oversight, reporting & analysis, investment risk management and strategic initiatives related to investment mandate/strategy enhancements. The incumbent will engage and interact with senior and executive staff (both within Investment Management and across the organization) in fulfillment of several of these roles.

The position can be either in Toronto or Winnipeg

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the CIO investment performance and risk management functions for both internal and external (sub-advised) mandates/strategies, including development of the oversight reporting & analysis leveraging large databases sources and reporting/visualization software.
  • In collaboration with the VP, Investment Management oversee mid-large strategic initiatives as it relates to investment mandates/strategies across Mackenzie and its institutional strategic accounts.
  • Support the account master, benchmark management and product disclosure certification processes for investment mandates/strategies.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Investment Officers and VP, Investment Management, provide analytical insights into new or existing investment mandates/strategies, including robust competitive analyses and recommendations for several governance committees, including the Board of Directors.
  • Lead scalable and flexible business unit operational processes with effective controls to satisfy compliance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related discipline
  • Master’s degree or industry specific courses is an asset
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Enrolled within CFA program (minimum requirement) or CFA designation (preferred)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial markets
  • Demonstrable knowledge of databases and reporting/visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Attention to detail, accurate numerical skills and highly organized
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work within teams and individually
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
