Corpay is currently looking to hire a Director of Institutional Sales within our Cross Border division. This position falls under our Cross Border line of business and is located in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for the origination, development and management of North American institutional sales related activities and relationships for Corpay Cross Border. The principal focus of the role will be to expand the client base of our Institutional risk management solutions business across alternative funds, private capital managers, family offices and institutional investors. You will report directly to the SVP of Global Institutional Sales and regularly collaborate with the Cross Border team.

As a Director of Institutional Sales, you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy targeting alternative investment firms (private equity, hedge funds, family offices, etc.) and service providers (fund administrators, lawyers).
  • Identify and engage new business opportunities by researching and connecting with key decision-makers in the alternative investment industry, leveraging industry contacts and networking.
  • Understand client needs and tailor Corpay solutions (FX risk, payments, treasury, etc.) to meet their objectives, delivering compelling presentations to decision-makers.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with executives and key stakeholders, positioning Corpay as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Lead prospects through the entire sales process, from outreach to contract closure, ensuring sales activities are tracked and aligned with sales plans.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to enhance Corpay’s product offerings and competitive edge.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure seamless client onboarding, providing regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Coordinate with client service teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and operational communication.
  • Identify opportunities for new product offerings to enhance client engagement and revenue generation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years in business development or sales within financial services, focusing on alternative investments.
  • Strong knowledge of alternative investment sectors (private equity, hedge funds, real estate, venture capital) and their unique challenges.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets, managing complex sales cycles, and negotiating high-value contracts.
  • Established relationships with key decision-makers (CFOs, COOs, General Counsel) in the alternative investment space.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex banking solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiar with banking products/services used by alternative investment firms (fund banking, FX, cash management).
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple opportunities independently or within a team.

This salary range is provided for locations which require such disclosure. Where a position or applicant may fall in a particular wage range varies depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications (if applicable), and other business and organization needs. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic markets. At Corpay, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. An estimate of the minimum and maximum salary range is $100,000 - $140,000 + commissions.
