The Opportunity
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time 1 FTE
Hours of Work: 0800-1600
Wages: $113,714.21-$149,640.14
Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Quality Officer (VP & CQO), the Director, Hospitality provides leadership and accountability for hospitality services inclusive of food, laundry and environmental services for a range of specific programs and services, including independent living, community programs, assisted/supportive living and long-term care to meet the needs of the resident/clients.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Director Hospitality is responsible for the establishment and attainment of goals and plans within the portfolio that aligns with the organizational mission, vision and values, strategic plan, and budgetary parameters and for the monitoring and assessment of organizational risk.
The Director, Hospitality is a key representative of Good Samaritan promoting a positive image of the organization and facilitating collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders of the organization. Additionally, the Director, Hospitality is responsible for leading and mentoring a skilled team of leaders and for fostering a positive and just work culture that supports the growth of both the organization and its employees in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Good Samaritan.
Educational and other Qualifications
- Master degree in healthcare related field or related equivalent
- Certified Health Executive designation is preferred
Work Experience
- Five (5) years hospitality operational management or healthcare leadership
- Two (2) years in a senior leadership position
- Experience in program financial management

- Significant travel throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and beyond to build and maintain relationships and influence change on behalf of the organization
- Corporate menu, recipe and production document creation
- Sound nutrition knowledge, skills and care planning in areas relevant to the population served
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Demonstrates critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to resolve issues independently and/or make recommendations that are supported by evidence consistent with legislation/policies and that meets the standards of care
- Adept at written and oral communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, webinar and internet technology

Requirements:
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
- A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
