We are presently accepting resumes for a full-time Director, Finance and Technology to provide overall leadership of the Agency's financial and information technology operations through the administration and evolution of Empower Simcoe's financial and digital transformation strategy.

Responsible for providing leadership to a team of high performing professionals, ensuring sound accounting and financial management and control systems, while creating opportunities for seamless integration of new and existing digital solutions to maximize the Agency's strategic directions and standards of practice.

The Director, Finance and Technology will lead Empower Simcoe's IT strategy, driving innovation and digital transformation. Provide strategic leadership and cultivate a flexible and robust technology landscape, ensuring Empower Simcoe is well-equipped for sustained success in a fast-changing digital landscape.

Compensation Package
  • Minimum starting rate of $61.50 per hour; $119,925 annualized;
  • 11 statutory holidays are observed, with public holiday pay;
  • 4% vacation pay paid on each pay cheque;

Following The Successful Completion Of a 4-month Probationary Period

Minimum Requirements For This Position Include
  • University degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent skills and experience;
  • Professional accounting designation e.g. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) required;
  • A minimum of 7 years related experience, with a minimum of 5 years recent full-time experience in a senior management role preferably in a human services or government transfer payment environment;
  • Highly developed financial management and project management skills, coupled with excellent analytical skills;
  • Experience leading organization wide technology transformation and implementing a variety of technology initiatives;
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, cybersecurity best practices, process automation, software solutions, network administration etc.;
Special Factors Of This Position
  • Providing coverage for the Director's Team in their absence;
  • Converting mission, vision and values in operational policies and procedures that are effective and appropriate;
  • Participating in an on-call support system that provides emergency support for the Agency during evenings, weekends and holiday periods;
Duties And Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited To)
  • Collaborating with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and leadership team to continuously advance the strategic direction of Empower Simcoe;
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with overall Agency objectives;
  • Analyze financial performance data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement;
  • Managing Agency subsidies and spending within approved limits;
  • Ensuring integrity of Agency financial management systems;
  • Overseeing the completion of quarterly financial forecasts and annual budgets;
  • Monitor budget variances and implement necessary adjustments as needed;
  • Identify, seek and apply for new sources of funding;
  • Conduct regular budget reviews and forecasts to anticipate future financial performance;
  • Create financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making;
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards, regulations and internal controls;
  • Leading a prioritization approach in developing an IT roadmap for innovation with the relevant processes, tools, and metrics to support business objectives and new growth opportunities;
  • Evolve and manage Agency's digital transformation strategy by applying best practices in the industry, engaging cross-functional teams, effectively managing stakeholders' expectations and becoming an integral trusted advisor for technology initiatives and emerging issues;
  • Accountable for the strategic development and oversight of the IT budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and alignment with organizational objectives to drive technological advancement and operational efficiency;
  • Ensure appropriate IT infrastructure and software is acquired to support the digital transformation and overall Agency operations;
  • Ensure optimal practices and controls are developed and adhered to with respect to the organization's digital strategies;
  • Building Partnerships and Collaboration with Others both internally and externally;
  • Develop high-performing, results-driven teams through coaching, providing transparent insight and feedback, and meaningful developmental opportunities;
  • Ensuring that a strategic planning context is in place for responsible departments that includes formal goals and a work plan that is aligned with the Agency's strategic plan, is monitored and evolves and changes over time;
  • Leading strategic Agency-wide projects and initiatives to drive organizational success;
  • Participating in Board meetings as required and working directly with Board committees;
  • Bring Empower Simcoe's values to life, modelling collaboration, inclusiveness, confidence in leadership, and teamwork, that moves the Agency towards success;
