We’re looking for a bright and motivated individual, someone who is ready to contribute to our growth. As the ideal candidate, you bring a solid foundation in financial management backed by a CPA designation. You will play an integral role in managing and overseeing Pinchin’s financial operations and provide effective leadership and guidance to your team. In this role you will be required to be in our Mississauga office twice a month, at minimum. Given the various time zones across Canada, you will be expected respond outside of core working hours.

What You Will Be Doing At Pinchin

The Director, Finance provides leadership to the finance & accounting teams to ensure efficient and effective operations and support the Company’s vision and strategy. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the primary functions and responsibilities of the Director, Finance include the following:

  1. Lead cross-functional and departmental teams, providing direction, mentorship, coaching, and fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture, while also providing financial expertise to senior leadership, management, and staff as appropriate. Responsible for general accounting, project accounting, credit & collections, and payroll teams.
  2. Oversee and manage financial leaders, including performance management, career development, and involvement in all hiring decisions, such as reviewing resumes and conducting interviews for all positions in the finance department.
  3. Oversee the preparation of monthly financial reports and manage the accounting team.
  4. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards and oversee the financial statement audit process under US GAAP.
  5. Review and file all Canadian tax returns and annual WCB returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and providing expert guidance on corporate, payroll, and sales tax matters.
  6. Oversee treasury and cashflow planning, managing cash flow, optimizing financial resources, and file compliance certificates for bank covenants.
  7. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. This includes leading business and digital transformations.
  8. Managing payroll function for timely processing of payroll for all employees, including overseeing system setup and security control in UKG.
  9. Oversee the project accounting function, including variance analysis and reviews, to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective project management.
  10. Sign cheques and approve EFTs, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely issuance.
  11. Oversee the accounts receivable functions as well as the setup and operation of POS systems.
  12. Lead by example and in accordance with Pinchin’s Core Values and desired culture.
  13. All other duties as assigned.

What You Bring To The Pinchin Team

  1. University degree in Business Administration/Commerce.
  2. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada.
  3. 5 years at management level and 10 years of related experience.
  4. Knowledge of UKG system is an asset but not required.
  5. Excellent verbal and oral communication and analytical skills.
  6. Leadership and interpersonal skills, and the willingness to always support the team.
  7. Solid knowledge of accounting principles, corporate taxes, governance best practices, financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
  8. Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint Microsoft tools.
  9. Ability to thrive in a team environment.
  10. Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced work environment.
