Director, Corporate Security and Integrity

Reporting to the VP of Corporate Security, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced security professional to lead our Corporate Security and Integrity team. The Director of Corporate Security and Integrity is responsible for planning, developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to protect our employees, assets, and reputation by leading important security programs such as Investigations, Lawful Access, Physical Security and Executive Protection. This is a key leadership role that requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, a deep experience in corporate security and strong real-time operational skills to prevent, respond and recover from security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security strategies, including policies, directives and procedures that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Engage with senior executives up to the CEO on security priorities, investigations and personal protection.
  • Lead and manage a team of security professionals, including security specialists, investigators, and technology experts.
  • Investigate security incidents, breaches to laws and business code of conduct. Provide detailed reports to appropriate leadership for disposition and resolution and where necessary, recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the company complies with its legal obligations by developing and maintaining lawful capacity and overseeing the response to court orders.
  • Oversee the company’s access control systems, surveillance operations, and security technology infrastructure.
  • Manage security budgets and ensure resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to security.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging threats and trends, and new technologies in the field of security.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement, government agencies, and other relevant organizations to enhance corporate security programs and represent the company on various strategic committees.
  • Expected to provide 24/7 on-call availability to manage security incidents and ensure timely resolutions as necessary.

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement or related field with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing security programs and at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong sense of integrity, probity and urgency.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading and motivating a team.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of security best practices.
  • Industry certification (e.g. CFE, CPP, PSP etc.) highly desirable.
  • Already have, or be able to obtain, a Federal Government Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work in corporate office as required.
  • Candidate must be a Canadian citizen.
  • This position requires the candidate to successfully undergo an extensive security background check process.
