Summary

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Business Development, the Director, Business Development - North America will work closely with the entire business development team to drive new business within North America including lead generation, pipeline management, and deal negotiation. Additionally, the individual will identify and develop strategic business opportunities within pharmaceutical and biotech organizations within the region. The individual will work in close collaboration with the business development team and functional teams to meet an aggressive growth strategy focused on pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Responsibilities

1. Expand the Company’s business in new and existing markets within North America through prospecting activities.
2. Leverage the Company’s relationships and reputation within the Translational Medicine and Clinical departments of pharma and biotech organizations to enhance the credibility of our products/services.
3. Work with the Senior Vice President, Global Business Development, to develop monthly, annual, and multi-year sales forecasts and measure results against them.
4. Cultivate relationships with strategic pharma and biotech partners and work together with the business development and management teams to expand sales opportunities within key accounts.

Education

Possess a relevant degree in a life science subject such as Immunology, Biology, Pathology, Genomics etc. An advanced degree is preferred.

Main Requirements

The successful candidate will have proven relationship building skills and the ability to pursue new opportunities through the ability to connect with others, unveil new potential prospects and share the value of the CellCarta Logistics services.

1. Minimum 2 years’ proven business development and sales experience within a Contract Research Organization (“CRO”) or health services company.
2. Strong command of spoken and written English is essential.
3. Have a high level of credibility interfacing with senior level client representatives and a proven sales track record.
4. Understanding of the biologics/drug development process, including clinical trial processes and market dynamics driving pharma and biotech organizations will be an asset.
5. Experience selling lab logistics services is an asset.
6. Experience with Salesforce is an asset.
7. Be able to credibly and effectively communicate with the internal operational teams to help develop “solutions” that address unique client needs.
8. Be metrics driven with superb organizational skills and be a chronic high achiever.
9. Ambitious, driven, and self-motivated personality adaptable to a fast-paced high volume and high velocity sales organization.
10. Participate in virtual and face to face client meetings, trade shows, and other forums.
11. Possess values of integrity, ambition, achievement, courage, and a clear sense of ethics.

Working Conditions

Available to travel approximately 25% of their time. Based in North America (remote).
