The Director, Archer Product Owner - Operational Risk and Resilience Management (ORRM) will report to and support the Head of Evolving Risk and Risk Intelligence (ERRI) function. The Director will be responsible for delivering and overseeing various functional capabilities including but not limited to risk tooling and technology (i.e. Archer, GenAI etc.), operational risk management activities, internal and external engagements, as well as supporting the development and execution of the relevant roadmaps for the function’s strategy.

Position Responsibilities:
- Work with Operational Risk and Resilience (including Enterprise Risk) colleagues across the globe to develop and coordinate the requirements for tooling, technology solutions and related utilities (i.e. Archer, GenAI, Fusion etc.)
- Act as product owner for ORRM technology and tooling book of work and work cross functionally with other risk partners.
- Execute on ERRI programs related to regulatory requirements (i.e., E-21, B-10 etc.)
- Execute on scoping and assessment activities and develop practical plans, communicate with stakeholders and drive to full implementation.
- Support the execution of functional improvement programs including enhancements to all other ERRI functions and supporting ORRM functions.
- Support the development of the functional strategy and roadmaps wherever required and mature their own designated function.
- Support the publication and distribution of relevant risk reporting including but not limited to the Operational Risk Committee and materials provided to regulators, and all other risk forums.
- Support external stakeholder and regulatory engagement activities including intake, triage, compilation, validate and distribution of risk related information.
- Educate and train businesses on risk management frameworks and associated risk policies and standards.
- Support ORRM involvement with and contributions to the group risk tooling (e.g. Archer, Fusion Risk Management).
- Ensure continuous and effective line of communication across appropriate Lines of Defense risk teams.
- Promote a strong risk culture and oversee relevant risk culture assessment processes.
- Influence and gain support from the senior leadership team and segments to support the implementation of the roadmaps, methodologies, including when necessary the allocation of additional resources. Train business unit and functional resources to implement the formed programs within their areas.
- Participate in high risk projects and change management initiatives, providing advice to project sponsors and resources on operational risk management activities.
Required Qualifications:
- A background in risk management, operations, audit, compliance, or technology with 10+ years of experience and a track record demonstrating increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience with risk tooling and technology and GRC platforms such as Archer, Fusion, SNOW etc.
- Demonstrated experience working with GenAI and deploying use cases.
- Experience working with regulators is strongly valued.
- Demonstrated experience implementing regulatory programs working across different lines of defense.
- Very strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills are a must. The successful candidate must be a strong champion of the Operational Risk and Resilience Framework(s) and demonstrate value such that the senior leadership team of each business and function will be engaged and commit resources to the program. Very strong relationship building skills will be required to form and cultivate a strong working relationship with many resources across the Company.
- Strong presentation skills and making appropriate slides for senior executives to convey a clear and concise message and obtain buy-in where required.
- Strong project management skills and experience. Will manage multiple initiatives across many different business units. The ability to get meaningful participation and support from many different resources and other departments will be critical to success.
- Highly developed business acumen, with a pragmatic approach to solving problems and implementing solutions. Act as a consultant to the businesses and assist in designing approaches to the implementation of the ORBRM Framework that work for each business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with or understanding of operational procedures at financial institution (preferably insurance).
- Experience in designing, implementing, and validating the effectiveness of operational controls is strongly valued.
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Operational Resilience (OR) regulatory requirements and leading practices (i.e. frameworks and processes) is a plus.

Primary Location: Toronto, Ontario
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Salary range is expected to be between: $103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
