Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director – Provincial Medical Services, the Director – Alternative Payment Plans (APP) & Provincial Contracts, will be accountable for providing leadership and administrative direction on all matters related to APPs, Salaried Physician (SPAC) positions and provincial contracts across Provincial Medical Services. The Director will be responsible for overseeing operations related to APPs, salaried physician guidelines (MOA), SPAC and provincial contracts, including the review and revision of current APPs, enforcement of APPs, and accountability metrics. The Director will work closely with senior management and physician leadership to ensure operations align with the strategic direction of NLHS. The Director will develop, implement, and monitor standard operations procedures and policies in line with DOH policies. The Director will also liaise with the NLMA, DOH and other stakeholders to facilitate effective lines of communication.
Job Qualifications
Education
A bachelor's degree in business or related field is required.
A master’s degree is preferred.
Experience
Experience in a management role within medical services is required.
Previous experience working with and developing APPs and employment contracts.
Significant recent experience in managing projects of a complex nature is required.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
In-depth knowledge of the field of medical services and contract negotiations.
Thorough knowledge of healthcare systems, and familiarity with the bylaws respecting Medical Staff, the Physician Memorandum of Agreement, and organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in process improvement and change management methodologies.
Proven senior management and leadership abilities, and excellent communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
Demonstrated highly developed negotiation, time management, problem-solving, Human Resource Management and decision-making skills.
