POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director will, within the context of Tsuut'ina culture and in accordance with the tri-partite agreement and the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, direct, develop and facilitate the delivery of the programs and services of the Tsuut'ina Nation Child and Family to those residing on the Tsuut'ina Nation, and to Tsuut'ina Nation Members. The Director is responsible for overall agency management; program and service development and review; personnel and fiscal management; and public relations liaison. The Director is also responsible for ensuring that the Tsuut'ina Nation Child and Family Services Society mandate is carried out and in accordance with the Tsuut'ina Nation - Tsuut'ina Nation Child and Family Services Society - ISC-Alberta CYFE Agreement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
o Bachelor of Social Work is preferred, or a related human services degree.
o 5 (five) years of experience in a human services area.
o Delegation Certification Training.
o Signs of Safety Training.
o Family Group Conferencing Training.
o Contract Management Training.
o Conflict Resolution Training.
o Knowledge and understanding of the Tsuut’ina Nation Culture and Language.
o Extensive knowledge of Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, Enhancement Policy Manual and regulations.
o Knowledge of other relevant legislation (PSECA, DECA, etc...)
o Knowledge, understanding and acceptance of community cultural protocols and practices.
o Development of community and treaty-based governance regulations and policies.
o Ability to work as a part of a team and manage multiple groups of people.
o Able to understand the Tsuut'ina Culture and Language.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal.)
o Excellent computer skills.
o Advanced Public Relation skills.
o Ability to work as a part of a team and manage multiple groups of people.
o Ability to work independently.
o High level critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
o Criminal Record Check, and Intervention Record Check (Prior Involvement).
o Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
o Reliable Transportation with Two (2) million liability insurance coverage (Section 6-A)
o Academic Verification.
o Flexible schedule.
o Three (3) References – individuals whom supervised delegated capacity.
o Certificate of Completion – Delegation Training (Alberta Children’s Services.)
o Minimum of two (2) years experience in a Delegated Social Work Capacity in Children's Services.
