What will you do?

Siemens is seeking a Digital Transformation Engineer for our Canadian operations in Drummondville, Quebec. This person will be responsible for implementing and supporting the solutions on our Automation and Digitalization Roadmap. They will work with a variety of other roles, including engineers, planners, manufacturing, and quality. A strong ability to influence and communicate effectively are required. This role is part of the 'Digital Transformation Solutions' (DTS) group within the Siemens Electrical Products group. DTS supports all operations for the Electrical Products group within North America.

As our local DTS, you will:

  • Drive the implementation of solutions according to the Automation and Digitalization Roadmap.
  • Support local DTS solutions:
    • Software Installation
    • Configuration
    • Troubleshooting
    • Apply Patches and Upgrades
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs, identify paths to improvement, and communicate the vision.
  • Serve as the point person during production issues and as the advisor to system changes.
  • Lead small to medium Digitalization projects for the factory.
  • Discover solutions that work well within local requirements and fit within the enterprise ecosystem.
  • Drive existing standards as much as possible.
  • User Training
  • Testing
  • Ensure the quality of the integrations with enterprise systems.

Travel: This position will be 80% in person at factory minimum, 20% home office. This position will require 20% travel, primarily in the US.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT and/or Engineering, with a preference for Systems, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering background.
  • Technical expertise in digital technologies for the business, including MES, CAD to CAM workflow, PLM systems, ERP systems, networking, and automation solutions.
  • Strong project management and leadership by influence skills, as this role will rarely have direct reports.
  • Experience in manufacturing and with MES applications.
  • Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma a good asset.
  • Knowledge of Siemens internal systems like DMM, AGW, and Teamcenter, an asset.
  • Basic networking skills, including Siemens SCALANCE routing and switching, an asset.
  • Fluent in English and French spoken and written as you will work daily with local and US colleagues is mandatory.
