The Opportunity
The Digital Experience TEAM is our internal stakeholders’ strategic partner in driving revenue and profit growth, optimized digital spending and increased productivity in the ‘ways we do work’ by insisting that technology across our company stay nimble and serve the ever-changing needs of our business. Every team member is constantly challenging stakeholders within the organization to determine how our work can be accomplished to achieve our goals “better, faster fuller” if we replaced steps or whole processes with digital intelligence and technology.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Experience, this role provides expertise in design, planning, and implementation of technical solutions that impact the overall IT ecosystem. This role is crucial in supporting IT Rationalization and IT Procurement Policies through the following responsibilities.
It will focus primarily on Automation/AI and Data (Financial and other) Projects, but our Digital Experience Team provides their expertise to ALL of our IT projects. We are a small and mighty team who triages work based on its net benefit to our organization’s growth goals, the cost/time and resources involved so you may be asked to lean into other related areas. Specific tasks are project (scope) dependent, but may include:
Business Requirements Analysis
Solution Design/Workflow Architecture
Implementation & Tech Deployment
Success Measurement including PowerBI dashboards
Other ‘day in the life’ type examples of work an Digital Solutions Analyst within our IT Digital Experience Team may do, include:
Client Requirements Assessment: Apply comprehensive knowledge of technical design and architecture concepts, methodologies, and standards to define solutions. This includes balancing competing interests such as component integration, application sustainability, infrastructure security, financial implications, and client group impacts.
Solution Design and Documentation: Transform client vision and requirements into a set of architecture and design documents for the creation, implementation, and ongoing operations/management of the desired solution.
Solution Recommendations: Explain and demonstrate the rationales for solution recommendations to ITS management, achieving consensus on the solution’s architectures and infrastructures with ITS stakeholders, including agreement on compensating controls for issues. Participate in proof of concept demonstrations as required to validate solution feasibility.
Workflow architecture and automation enablement: Assess automation requirements and design/implement solutions to enable the business strategies, including data architecture to support, tool selection, workflow design/implementation. (eg. Email Customer Journeys, MS Power Platform, Shopify Flow). User Adoption/Training for new tools and processes, including documentation and governance
Automation Optimization: Enable data practices which support always-on optimization of workflows and automation capabilities towards maximized ROI and productivity. Build PowerBI dashboards to enable self service data analysis by the business units (data sources incl MS365 apps + Shopify)
Industry Best Practices Research: Research industry best practices and standards, adapting them to enable robust solution design and architecture within the constraints of a regulated industry
Technical Brainstorming/Evaluation: Participate in technical brainstorming sessions with other ITS Technical Architects and subject matter experts to foster innovative solutions. Provide technical evaluation of commercially available off-the-shelf solutions (COTS) when appropriate, ensuring alignment with IT Procurement Policy.
Other duties as assigned
Experience
4+ years experience in a Business Analysis/Solution Designer role in the Digital space OR 2+ years experience and degree/diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong Automation and Data Activation experience.
Experience navigating high degrees of uncertainty and ambiguity to achieve successful business outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in articulating technical concepts and analysis to non-technical business leaders.
