We are looking for career-minded, detail-oriented individuals to contribute to our impactful work in the Industrial cleaning industry. As the Mechanic, you must be detail-oriented as you would be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and making repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and electronics in all equipment used by PSI Industrial Solutions. This includes preventive routine maintenance on heavy-duty diesel industrial vacuum trucks and high-pressure water pumps. You would also perform routine administrative duties, such as ordering and tracking repair data by equipment, as required.
Essential Functions:
Promotes safety as the number one priority, and quality as the number two priority on the job.
Works with the purchasing department to maintain an appropriate inventory of repair parts.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs all equipment used by PSI, including brakes, transmissions, electronics, pumps, hydraulics, fuel injectors, suspensions, and electrical systems.
Develops, maintains, and keeps an accurate record of a Preventive Maintenance Schedule on each piece of equipment used by the companies.
Assists in the repair and maintenance of the building and grounds.
Secures high-value items to prevent theft.
Performs and keeps records of periodic inspections.
Responds to emergency repair calls as needed.
Abides by all Standard Operating Procedures.
Facilitates effective communications including procedures for equipment repairs, “red tagging,” and returning repaired equipment back into inventory.
Assures that all equipment is in proper working condition before it leaves the shop.
Encourages a "team approach" atmosphere; maintains a positive, respectful, and professional attitude; contributes to the "continuous improvement" philosophy; performs other duties as deemed necessary.
Maintains positive customer, vendor, and employee relations for the company.
Ensures proper housekeeping of the shop and other areas where work is performed, as necessary.
Assists the Operations Manager and EHS Director in proper equipment utilization training and re-training of employees when requested.
Attends training sessions and meetings with employees, staff, vendors, and customers as directed.
Maintains driver’s log sheet for any company-issued vehicle and submits it weekly.
Complies with all laws, company policies/procedures, and customer rules/regulations.
Qualifications:
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in all situations.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
Must possess current DOT Vehicle Inspection Certificates and possess a valid Class B CDL.
Insurable by PSI’s carrier in order to drive service vehicles.
Knowledge of pumps including hydraulic, pneumatic, and high-pressure water.
Familiarity and compliance with all laws, policies, and practices relating to safe working conditions.
Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery.
Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
Physically capable of routinely lifting 65 pounds, wearing required protective clothing, repetitively bending, squatting, and kneeling if required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, in addition to being available to work Sunday through Saturday as needed.
