ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), complimented by leading edge open-source HRIS software.
This is a permanent position. You will be architecting/designing and developing, delivering and deploying BI applications for our client's customers. You will work with their sales/presales team to grow existing business and win new business as the key technical resource.
You will…
- Take direction from senior technical staff on work products that need to be created.
- Understand and translate client’s business requirements into workable technical solutions.
- Provide solutions to problems assigned by the technical lead on the project.
- Participate in application design and architecture.
- Install and configure technology and solutions.
- Plan and develop core application components, with an emphasis on BI (Business Intelligence) and ETL.
- Complete all levels of application testing and Q/A.
- Prepare all required documentation (specifications, design, system, training).
- Install and configure our client's software as required.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge in industry business and technology solutions, through self-motivated approach to continuous learning.
- Provide presentations, internally and/or with clients, as required.
- Develop prototypes as required.
- Undertake design of modules as assigned by the technical lead.
- Other duties as assigned.
You Have...
- Working knowledge of common hardware environments and operating systems; Basic programming skills (Base, Macros, Procedures); Knowledge of UNIX, and Windows environments preferred.
- Basic understanding of connectivity issues and connectivity protocols, ability to use and configure client software on multiple operating systems.
- Experience using relational database technology such as DB2 or Oracle.
- Working knowledge of GUI technologies based on Java and .Net (Microsoft). Design and author help screens, menus, indices to ensure ease-of-use and consistency.
- Exposure to testing and validation techniques in software engineering.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to travel.
- Bachelor's degree - preferably in Engineering or Computer Science or a Masters degree in Statistics.
- At least 2 years of work experience with BI tools and technologies.
Skill Set: Data Integration (DI)
- Working knowledge of data management tools.
- Working knowledge of industry standard third party tools such as schedulers, data modeling, data quality tools and OS services.
- Knowledge of DW/BI concepts, applications, and supporting data structures.
