As the Development Partner – Alumni and Donor Relations at Olds College, you will play a strategic role in supporting fundraising initiatives, building relationships with alumni and donors, and coordinating engagement activities that align with the College’s strategic priorities. Reporting to the Director, Development, you will collaborate strategically with internal teams, alumni, donors, and community partners to enhance engagement, secure donations, and support institutional goals.
Key Job Functions
Campaign Strategy and Planning
- Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies aligned with institutional goals.
- Assist in creating campaign plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Track key metrics to measure campaign progress.
Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni and donors.
- Assist in identifying potential donors and stewardship activities.
- Support donor engagement efforts to strengthen relationships.
Donation and Gift Agreement Writing
- Coordinate drafting donation and gift agreements.
- Ensure agreements align with institutional goals and donor preferences.
- Work with internal teams to review agreements as needed.
- Make decisions with our community partners, stakeholders, and the sectors we serve in mind, demonstrating the value of relationship building.
Campaign Execution and Oversight
- Coordinate fundraising campaigns in collaboration with other departments.
- Support in developing campaign materials, such as donor communications and solicitation letters.
- Monitor fundraising efforts and provide updates to stakeholders.
Events and Engagement Initiatives
- Coordinate events, receptions, and donor recognition programs.
- Work with Marketing and Communications to promote initiatives.
- Occasional travel may be required to attend events and conferences.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure adherence to fundraising policies and ethical standards.
- Maintain donor records and track pledges using fundraising databases.
- Prepare donor acknowledgments and progress reports.
Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required
- Post-secondary education in Business, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, development, project coordination, or related fields, preferably engaging Alumni.
- Experience in supporting fundraising campaigns and donor relations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with alumni, donors, and institutional leaders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to support fundraising initiatives.
- Ability to track fundraising efforts and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with fundraising databases is an asset.

Working Conditions
- This position is required to work some evenings and weekends, and requires some travel time.
