Join Symcor as a Developer 1 to assist with the design, development, and implementation of various software application solutions at Symcor. The opportunity will allow for but is not limited to enterprise application, Cloud development, web application, and database application development. The ideal candidate has experience with Python and MSSQL and a great bonus would be experience working on print statements and post-composition items.

This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.

About The Role:

• Analyze business and product requirements and under the guidance of Developer 2 or 3, support the design of less complex technical solutions in accordance with industry and Symcor standards and software development best practices.
• Liaise with the development team, implementation support and production support staff to support the definition of technical specifications as required.
• Contribute to the identification of efficient solutions for less complex requirements.
• Under supervision, convert architecture and designs specifications into running code.
• Provide automated tests to demonstrate correctness.
• Work with Peers, Support and Customers to diagnose challenges and issues with the product/service.
• Contribute fresh, new ideas during developer meetings and other brainstorming sessions.
• Use a variety of programming languages and development tools to build, test, implement, and support the development of software applications.
• Write high-quality, re-usable code applying industry standard object-oriented programming best practices.
• Fix product defects and develop regressions tests.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of all required system-related documentation to ensure the software is maintainable and supportable by development teams.

What You Need to Succeed:

Education:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

• Solid foundation in software development, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with Node.js, PowerShell, and PowerBI.
• Understanding of secure coding best practices and requirements gathering.
• Experience with front-end technologies is a plus.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, OpenAPI, relational/NoSQL databases, and Azure development.
• Experience with IT ticketing tools (ITSM) and MS Office (O365).
