Job Summary:
We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent customer service, and hands-on experience with desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including Windows and basic networking problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and security updates.
- Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise systems.
- Assist in setting up and managing IT assets, including procurement, inventory, and disposal.
- Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and maintain IT knowledge base.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, including basic LAN/WAN connectivity issues.
- Provide IT onboarding support for new employees, including system setup and orientation.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or a similar role.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with Active Directory, user account management, and group policies.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers, etc.).
- Knowledge of remote desktop tools and IT ticketing systems.
Soft Skills: - Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize support requests effectively.
- A problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSA, etc.).
- Experience with ManageEngine management tools.
- Experience in an enterprise or multi-site IT environment.
