We at EA Sports have reached the next level of cohesion and craft by evolving into a modern Experience Design practice that brings UX and UI together, understanding that neither exists in a vacuum. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and collaboration-oriented Design Technologist for the FC Companion Mobile App to transform the mobile app to a highly delightful and state of the art mobile gaming experience. This person will translate and bridge the gap between visuals and animations with our technology, by combining artistic skills and experience with programming and scripting. The mission is to transform the gaming vision and experience of FC into an elegant and intuitive mobile experience that seamlessly integrates into a delightful user experience of FC.
You will work closely with the Game Design Director and your partners from the Experience Design Team, Engineering, Game Design, Production, Art Direction and Creative Direction to create experiences that surprise, delight and inspire millions of players around the world to play. Your Responsibilities
- Translate design mockups into functional screens and UI components, maintaining visual accuracy and consistency with design guidelines.
- Work closely with Experience Designers, Engineers, Producers, and Game Design to implement versatile front-end solutions for player’s experiences on mobile.
- Explore product concepts to find promising directions that address both human and business needs.
- Advise, collaborate with, and synthesize feedback from producers, experience designers, and researchers.
- Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest in front-end technologies.
- UI animations and effects creation using Web and React Native.
- Creation of micro interactions and animations (After effects, Lottie, Rive, SVG, CSS and Javascript animations).
- Apply proper art optimization techniques in art assets.
- Quickly identify and debug art and animation related issues.
- Leverage and evolve an established FC Design System and Visual Identity when crafting visual and interactive solutions.
- Experience building on brand and expanding brands.
- Collaborate with engineering and art, explaining both the art team needs and the tech constraints.
- Document tools and workflows on the internal Wiki.
- High fidelity rapid prototyping for UX evaluation.
Your Qualifications
- Technical skills, and ability to quickly learn new proprietary production tools and workflow.
- Adept or be able to quickly learn various Object Oriented programming languages and scripts (e.g. Javascript, HTML, CSS, React, Storybook).
- Familiar with scripting languages like Python.
- Proficient with Adobe CC (Photoshop, After Effects) and other graphics and animation applications.
- 1+ years of experience creating 3D motion graphics, or interfaces with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.
- Visual animation and programming.
Other Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Understanding of user experience principles.
- Knowledge around iOS and Android patterns.
- Understanding of revision version control software. Knowledge of Perforce is ideal.
- Degree in a relevant visual art or technical subject highly desired (e.g. BSc Computer Science or Game Programming, Game Art and Design Diploma).
- Bonus Points: Passion for sports (Football) and sports games.

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
