Salary Range: $55,828.39 - 100,518.93 dependent on education and experience

The Successful Candidate Will Be Required To

1. Develop and deliver International Baccalaureate (IB) units incorporating the BC Curriculum
2. Fully participate in our programs and culture of our school community
3. Support and monitor student academics, personal growth and development
4. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
5. Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs
6. Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
7. Assign, assess and evaluate class work, homework, tests and assignments on a regular basis
8. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' attendance, progress and development
9. Supervise Extended Essay and/or Personal Project
10. Supervise Home Room
11. Embrace inquiry in teaching and learning
12. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by IB and Ministry guidelines and school policies and regulations
13. Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
14. Participate in Faculty meetings, parent-teacher meetings and other meetings as required
15. Participate in CAS/extra-curricular activities/tutorial duty
16. Provide support to class coverage, lunch supervision

Qualifications And Experience

1. Possess a valid BC Teachers’ Certificate or be able to obtain (must provide proof)
2. An undergraduate degree in area of teaching with a focus or experience in practical design or technology subjects
3. Experience and familiarity with the BC Curriculum
4. Experience IB teaching an asset
5. Experience teaching ELL students and/or international teaching experience an asset
6. Boarding school experience an asset
7. A strong understanding of the unique needs of boarding students and a boarding school environment

Compensation
