The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is a national museum dedicated to the evolution, celebration and future of human rights. It is the first national museum in Canada to be built outside the National Capital Region. Located in the heart of Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the CMHR rises from the Prairie earth at The Forks, which has been a meeting place for over six thousand years.

The CMHR delivers an immersive, interactive and memorable experience for visitors of every background, age and ability. About the role

The Design Services Coordinator will support our collective efforts to build a workplace culture that is inclusive, equitable, innovative and focused on inspiring action.

Reporting to the Director, Design and Digital Experience, the Design Services Coordinator supports effective organizational practices and processes in the Design and Digital Experience department by providing comprehensive administrative and coordination support services to the staff members and management team of the department.

The incumbent will be a strong and thoughtful communicator, critical thinker, and innovator who will bring a collaborative approach to their role.

What you will do

  • Contributes to a culture that promotes respect, equity, inclusion and innovation, and models anti-racist and accountable behaviours.
  • Develops and updates weekly Design and Digital Experience production schedule, balancing multiple projects at different stages for a variety of clients.
  • Leads weekly Design and Digital Experience production meeting, tracking progress of tasks for assigned creatives.
  • Liaises with various CMHR departments and external producers/vendors to identify and document project scope and requirements.
  • Coordinates processes related to web publishing, design/product deliverables, audio/video creation and capturing, and accessibility production.
  • Schedules and arranges meetings and appointments, creates and shares agendas, captures feedback, takes notes, and provides meeting minutes.
  • Supports department with financial documentation such as purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Ensures processes are documented, shared and filed.

What we’re looking for

  • Completion of a diploma in a relevant discipline and 3 years working in a creative industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting team members from various levels in the organization.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Commitment to human rights principles, including respect, equity, inclusion and dignity for all.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products, Adobe Creative Cloud, and project management tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate proficiently in both official languages.
  • Experience serving senior-level management would be considered an asset.
