Job description
Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern.
  • Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to TEAM’s Core Values.
  • Determines the target audience of the product and the different ways in which it may be used, by answering and asking appropriate questions and addressing inquiries from customers / plant engineers / branch personnel.
  • Handles field calls for service requests and collaborates with field personnel to decipher data and support design requests.
  • Develops design drawings and specifications for field equipment, dies/tools and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. Requires mathematical computation.
  • Coordinates drafting efforts on projects and reviews and evaluates preliminary sketches to create more refined drafts applying engineering fundamentals.
  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Provides technical advice and discusses design concepts with field personnel and clients regarding designs and creates design packages for customer presentations.
  • Presents designs and performs demonstrations of product prototypes for the approval of clients.
  • Maintains documentation of design drawings and reproduces illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of equipment and components to field personnel and clients.
  • Ensures that drafts and sketches align with company procedures, regulations and client standards.
  • Performs calculations for designed clamps based on ASME code.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or design engineering.
  • Must possess P Eng stamp/Designation for Ontario.
  • 3 to 5 years related work experience.
  • Professional Engineering Certification appropriate for the working region.
  • Completion of certified CADD program preferred.
  • Experience using SolidWorks, UltraPIPE, or other AutoCAD software required.
  • Experience with parametric modeling preferred.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to work under time constraints, good interpersonal skills and a high degree of initiative is preferred.
  • Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications is preferred.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts and overtime.
  • Weekend, holiday and/or on-call as required.
  • Travel Requirements: 0%-25%.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • Variable shifts.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively.
