At HDR, our employee-owners are fully engaged in creating a welcoming environment where each of us is valued and respected, a place where everyone is empowered to bring their authentic selves and novel ideas to work every day. As we work to weave diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and foster a sense of belonging throughout the company and within our communities, we constantly ask ourselves: What is our impact on the world?

Our British Columbia offices, located in Vancouver, Victoria and Penticton specialize in design of institutional and public-facing projects including major social infrastructure projects and mass timber towers. We work in collaborative studios across offices, pairing our local knowledge and deep project experience with leading edge expertise from around the globe. We specialize in complex, medium-to-large scale projects that leave a significant legacy in our communities, such as hospital campuses, post-secondary facilities and housing, community centers, and affordable housing. In addition to project work, we host weekly design social events to share our expertise, project work and personal interests. We also host a range of sporting events and other social events such as architectural film screenings. Our staff actively teach at UBC's School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and can plug you into broader industry and academic events during your time in Vancouver.

Our eight Employee Network Groups (Asian Pacific, Black, Hispanic/Latino(a), LGBTQ+, People with Disabilities, Veterans, Women, Young Professionals) help create a sense of belonging and foster a supportive environment where everyone is empowered to engage and contribute. Each group has an executive sponsor and is open to all employees.
