DEPARTMENT HEAD – TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION
Holy Trinity Catholic High School – 1.0 FTE
Effective Date: September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2028
Salary Range: Base salary plus an allowance of 6.77% of the A4 maximum
Position Summary
The Department Head will be responsible to the school administration as a member of the school leadership team. It is the responsibility of the department head to provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of programs for their department. The Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations and Ministry guidelines are central to department curriculum design and management; therefore, the Department Head will need to be committed to individual and department accountability for student achievement in support of the Board and School Improvement Plans.
Qualifications
Basic*: Technological Studies or Technological Education
Additional*: Honour Technological Studies Specialist
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ teaching in the secondary panel
Other: An understanding of current system and school priorities in secondary education; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a leader are essential for this position

Duties And Responsibilities
The Department Head will facilitate cooperation with other departments to meet the program needs of students in a Catholic environment, facilitate communications between school administration and department members, facilitate appropriate delivery of programs, facilitate the compilation of Ministry and Board curriculum requirements, lead the department in professional development to support the school improvement plan, and demonstrate a commitment to the Catholic school culture, knowledge about effective programs for students, and assist the department in securing high levels of student achievement.
