Daily tasks include:

  • Greeting office visitors and managing patient intake
  • Answering and routing incoming calls, emails, and texts
  • Scheduling and managing patient appointments
  • Updating profile and insurance information
  • Submissions of claims and collecting payments
  • Assisting with billing inquiries and maintaining organized financial records.
  • Ensuring the front desk area is tidy and welcoming for patients.
  • Collaborating with dental staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and address any scheduling conflicts.
  • Performing other administrative duties as required.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the administrative tasks of our dental office. This role requires proficiency in handling front desk operations, managing electronic medical records, and ensuring a smooth flow of communication between patients and dental staff.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out processes efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments and confirm patient visits using office scheduling software.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up to date.
  • Handle incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Process patient insurance claims and verify coverage details as needed.
  • Stay informed about medical terminology relevant to dental procedures to assist in patient communication.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a front desk role within a medical or dental office is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, specifically Epic, is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dental practices.
  • Proficient in using office equipment, including phone systems and computers.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in administrative tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff alike.
