Job Title: Level 2 Dental Assistant

Location: Kitchener, Ontario

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Level 2 Dental Assistant to join our esteemed practice in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise and a proactive approach to support our dentists in delivering exceptional dental care. This role requires a high level of proficiency in dental assisting, a strong understanding of dental procedures, and excellent patient management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treatment Room Preparation: Efficiently prepare and organize treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures. Ensure all necessary instruments, materials, and equipment are ready and sterile, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Advanced Procedure Assistance: Assist dentists during complex dental procedures by providing specialized tools, managing suction, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Support the dentist with advanced dental techniques and technologies.
  • X-Ray Procedures: Perform and develop dental x-rays with precision, ensuring clear and accurate imaging for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes. Follow established safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Patient Education and Support: Educate patients on advanced oral hygiene practices, postoperative care, and preventive measures. Provide detailed instructions and address patient questions to enhance their understanding and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records, including detailed treatment notes, x-ray documentation, and medical histories. Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification and Experience: Level 2 Dental Assistant certification or equivalent in Ontario is required. Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with advanced skills in dental procedures and patient management.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or similar platforms is essential. Ability to effectively use software for scheduling, record-keeping, and patient communication.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with orthodontics and pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Experience with CAD software for dental procedures is highly desirable.
  • Medical Terminology: Strong understanding of medical and dental terminology to facilitate effective communication and comprehensive patient care.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in dental assisting, including handling advanced dental instruments and technologies. Ability to support a variety of dental procedures with skill and precision.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, dentists, and team members. Ability to provide clear instructions and empathetic support to patients.
