We are looking for a Demand Planner who will work closely with Category Managers to review forecast results and make forward-looking recommendations on opportunities in their respective category. You will also work with sourcing, category management, marketing, process optimization and go-to-market functions to understand forecasts and trends; and support testing, implementation, training, and adoption of the Ocado platform.

Work shift: Sunday to Thursday

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Understand the demand for respective categories
  • Manage accurate demand forecasts that incorporate current and relevant market information to predict customer demand and provide buying team with the right information to plan to meet that demand
  • Develop reports to determine priorities and areas of opportunity and confirm/communicate results; create ad hoc reports as necessary
  • Identify forecast accuracy root causes and refine process to ensure continuous improvement of the overall process
  • Support the company’s long-term strategy and inventory reduction while maintaining high customer service
  • Coordinate seasonal forecast and plans with merchandising, suppliers, and distribution teams
  • Propose sales forecast based on observations, knowledge, and assessments; collaborate with partners to refine forecasts
  • Track projections and recommend appropriate action to achieve service level metrics

What you have to offer:

  • Deep understanding of supply chain and business
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in forecast management, statistical analysis, procurement, or logistics
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Solid experience with fresh products or groceries
  • Bilingual in English/French is an asset; the candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada (English: 90%; French: 10%)
