Position Summary
The Safety and Security Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the safety and security operation within our 1.8 million square foot distribution center (DC), part of a $1 billion apparel company. Reporting directly to the Safety and Security Manager, this position is instrumental in the development of a proactive safety and security department aimed at maintaining the highest standards for both.
The coordinator will conduct daily safety audits, track essential safety records, and assist in the implementation of safety initiatives. Additionally, the role involves monitoring security systems and ensuring that all protocols are followed. As a vital member of the team, the Safety and Security Coordinator will help create and sustain a safe and secure environment for all team members and visitors in the DC.
This role works as part of a team and cross functionally with operations to achieve department goals. It requires flexibility and a desire to learn while working in a diverse team environment that prioritizes collaboration, trust, teamwork, and continuous improvement to drive a culture of safety.

Education/Qualifications
o High School Diploma or equivalent.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on documentation accuracy.
o Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
o Associate’s degree in safety management, security, or a related field.
o Familiarity with OSHA standards and compliance requirements and safety management systems.
o Experience conducting safety audits and using risk management tools.
o Certification in PIT operation or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Experience
o 2-3 years of experience in safety and security roles, with at least 2 years of incident investigation experience.
o Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, detail-oriented, and work independently within a team-based environment.
o Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
o Previous experience conducting safety audits in a distribution center or 3PL.
o Familiarity with DC safety compliance standards, especially OSHA regulations.
