The Databases Administration Department (DBA) provides hosting services and expertise to all main database technologies (Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase, PostGre, Bigdata…). The DBA team in Canada works to maintain a high level of service in critical environments in AMER, Europe, and Asia, and accompanies business partners on their needs.
In that context, we are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator with DevOps skills to integrate into our team to provide support for our existing infrastructure, assist our clients in their database-related projects, and participate in building automation tools and APIs.

- Deliver quality/cost-effective IT infrastructure services aligned to our customer needs while effectively managing operational risks and providing value-added/innovative solutions.
Your future duties and responsibilities
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
- Installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of databases.
- Responsible for database health, resiliency, performance tuning and optimization, operational control procedures, support, and inventory.
- Work closely with developers and application production support to provide technical help.
- Participate in On-call, handle alerts and escalations during business hours and off-hours, including weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
- Setup and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
- Provide technical documentation.
- Support and implement database changes, ensuring quality of the changes.
- Perform capacity planning for the databases.
- Implement and help other team members with group/team strategy.

Technical Skills:
- Oracle / SQL Server:
- Oracle 12C, 19C
- RAC, ASM, DataGuard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager
- MSSQL 2016 – 2022, Cluster, AlwaysOn
- Unix shell scripting
- Linux Operating system
- Windows server operating systems basics
- EMC-SAN technologies.
Development:
- Python knowledge
- PowerShell knowledge
- Unix shell scripting
- Knowledge in Agile Methodology
Desired / Plus:
- Oracle Exa@CC management
- Golden Gate
- Knowledge in other RDBMS PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Sybase
- UC4/Autosys scheduling tool
Competencies:
- Experience working in a large, 7x24, Investment Bank.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, disciplined, professional, and a team player to manage multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain technical information.
- Database management experience, including installation, maintenance, migration/upgrades, and database refreshes.
- Database architectural knowledge.
Experience Needed:
- 8+ years hands-on experience on Oracle (19c, 12c) databases on Unix/Linux.
- 2+ years of development experience.
- Experience handling large databases.
- Experience with the Oracle Optimizer plans and hints.
- Experience with building automation tools or APIs using Python.
- Experience with shell scripting and Linux scripts development.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
Desired / Plus:
- Certification in Database administration.
- LANGUAGE: French and English.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
