JOB SUMMARY
The Database Administrator reports to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for processing all donations into Raiser’s Edge, pulling lists from the database for communications purposes, and ensuring seamless coding to support finance. This position is responsible for overall donor integrity including ensuring team members are trained to add data correctly and general oversight of data. The position is responsible for data analytics to support the Foundation’s strategic objectives and the goals of the fundraising teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Administration
- Overall management of Raiser’s Edge database
- Data clean-up and maintenance
- Development and maintenance of system standards and procedures
- Ensuring donations are coded to correct accounts and funds
- Supporting audit and charity return with report on annual revenue, receipts upon request and other related duties
Reporting and Analysis
- Creating queries and preparing reports as requested by the fundraisers and Executive Director
- Quarterly analysis of donor trends
Donations Processing
- Efficient and timely processing of all data related to donations, including receipts, acknowledgements, ensuring compliance with Canada Revenue Agency systems
- Development of lists for mailings, events, etc. as required
- Prospecting and research assistance to fund development staff
- Identify major gift and planned giving prospects and bring forward to colleagues responsible for major gifts and legacy giving
- Management of donation processing, procedures and training for events
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five years of experience in database management or education in a related field such as computer science or computer engineering
- Strong background in the use of Raiser’s Edge is an asset
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Solid understanding of basic fundraising principles
- Sound oral and written communication skills; ability to ensure system meets needs of organization
- Ability to adapt to changing technology and find efficiencies
- Computer software competencies: Raiser’s Edge; Excel; Word; competency in using advanced features of MS Office, Adobe, and the Internet
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Organized, systematic, ability to prioritize, schedule and perform complex tasks with minimal supervision
- Willing and able to work occasional evening and weekend events as required
- Can competently manage multiple priorities
