Role Overview:
We are seeking a Data Science Team Lead to join our dynamic team in Moncton. In this role, you will be leading a small team who are instrumental in developing cutting-edge Advanced Analytics models, designing solutions, and testing and monitoring model performance in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- AI Development: Conceive and develop advanced analytics models and solutions to generate actionable insights for clients.
- Innovative Solutions: Design and implement data-driven products across various data science disciplines, including predictive modelling, machine learning, generative AI, and causal inference.
- Client Engagement: Communicate and understand client needs and then deliver model results and experimental findings effectively to clients.
- Technical Translation: Translate client requirements into analytics problems.
- MLOps & DevOps: Maintain, deploy, and improve models and pipelines in MLOps and DevOps environments, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
- Model Deployment: Ensure models and solutions are deployed on schedule and meet all required specifications.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of deployed models, with a focus on validating relationships and ensuring optimal operation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers and other team members to build and operationalize data pipelines and solutions, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical discussions, employ the best approaches, estimate and manage deadlines and schedules across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance, coaching and mentorship, training and hiring.
To be successful in this role, we are seeking applicants who have the following skills and experience:
- PhD or Master's degree in Data, Computer Science, Statistics, or other quantitative fields.
- Foundational knowledge and practical skills in data science.
- Experience working with time series data (building univariate and multivariate models).
- 7+ years of data science experience (including model deployment to production), with at least 2+ years leading others.
- Advanced level in Python programming.
- Experience with core data science tools in Python (NumPy, Scikit-learn, Scipy, Pandas).
- Past experience with one or more cloud analytics and computing platforms (Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure ML is a plus).
- Relevant portfolio of previous work.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Practical experience with OpenAI stack is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience of causal inference is a plus.
Base Salary Range: Senior Data Scientist (P4) - Moncton - $114,000 – $155,000.
