Overview :
This role, reporting to the Director of Enterprise Data Governance, is responsible for supporting the management and adherence of the Enterprise Data Governance Policy. The Data Risk Consultant will play a crucial role in identifying, articulating, and mitigating data risks associated with technology projects and BAU activities. This involves understanding project descriptions, policies, and requirements, and ensuring alignment with policy and standards. Collaboration with the Chief Data Office (CDO), Enterprise Data and Records Management Office (EDRMO), and risk and control partners is essential to reduce and mitigate data risk across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities :
- Identify and assess data risks associated with technology projects by reviewing project descriptions, policies, and requirements.
- Articulate identified risks, explain the rationale for mitigations, and ensure requirements align with policies and standards.
- Support the creation and management of the data governance policy, standards, procedures, and processes.
- Contribute to the development and management of oversight mechanisms and controls to monitor adherence to EDRMO policies and standards.
- Assist in the execution of data risk assessments, including Change Initiative Risk Assessment (CIRA), Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Technology Triage, and Third Party Risk Assessment (TPRA).
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective data governance practices.
Requirements :
- 2 years of experience in risk assessment, preferably within Financial Services.
- Understanding of data risk and data governance principles.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and requirements.
- Experience in technology projects and the ability to use established processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
