Position: Data Quality Analyst

Description:

We are seeking a Data Quality Analyst responsible for a wide range of data management activities with a primary focus of validating and migrating in-scope data from the existing legacy system to a new cloud-based SIS. Other associated activities include data analysis, data mapping, data quality, data conversion, data architecture, and data integration.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform Testing, Data Quality (DQ) Profiling & Data Quality (DQ) Assessments
• Work with the project team to establish business rules, DQ rules, and DQ thresholds for data being assessed.
• Conduct data testing, profiling and assessment based on customized DQ rules.
• Measure and report on data quality assessment results and ongoing data quality improvement through the use of DQ scorecards and/or dashboards.
• Identify opportunities to cleanse data prior to data migrations.
• Develop status reports for stakeholders, and liaise with business and technical leads on data analysis and reporting.
• Support data verification and functional testing of migrated data.
• Perform Data Issue Analysis & Remediation
• Work with the project team to identify the root cause of data (and migration) issues.
• Identify and prioritize issues and work with the R3 team to resolve them.
• Perform Data Mapping & Build Data Transformations
• Review business requirements with Business Analysts and Business Systems Analysts.
• Review data mappings for completeness and accuracy and work with the project team to maintain data mappings (and other metadata).
• Work with the project team to build and run data transformation routines to transform and move data from its current state into the vendor staging database.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Completed an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years in a data analysis role involving reporting/analytics projects, data warehouse and/or data platforms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Data Management and Data Governance.
• Ability to elicit data requirements and data quality rules from business use cases.
• Ability to simplify technology/data communications for business consumption.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Agile principles and the Scrum Framework

Location and Timeline

• Hybrid (in-person and remote), Ottawa, ON
• This is a full-time, one-year contract with the option for a one-year extension.
