The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis is to provide comfort, care, and a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children. Our objective is to enable families to practice family-centered care by providing them with all of the basic comforts of home.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis has a full-time Data Manager position open. This position is part of a mission-focused team of professionals providing compassion and hospitality to families with seriously ill children.
This position manages the Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis (RMHC) Raiser’s Edge database and is responsible for data strategy, data integrity, reporting, process management, data administration and security, providing support for all staff departments including providing data utilized in grant applications. This position also provides insight and direction on other RMHC data collection and storage programs.
As part of RMHC, the position collaborates with team members to achieve position and organization goals in support of the RMHC mission and Core Values.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Blackbaud Professional Certifications (Raiser’s Edge, RE NXT) preferred
- Significant experience with Blackbaud suite software including Raiser’s Edge, RE NXT and Online Express; or similar CRM database system
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office
- Competent in use of Omatic products including Import-o-Matic, Wealth Engine, Crystal Reports, WealthPoint, One Cause, BidPal and matching gift software preferred
- Significant experience with prospect research preferred
- Strict adherence to organizational ethics and maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Management experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Must be able to work independently, meet timelines and prioritize
- Ability to adjust schedule to fit organization’s needs

Essential Functions
- Database Management
- Develops database strategies
- Ensures data integrity and confidentiality are at the highest possible level
- Reviews and analyzes donor constituencies and attributes
- Oversees data essential functions including but not limited to: gift and donor data entry, acknowledgement letter processing, and finance reconciliation.
- Conducts regular Raiser’s Edge Maintenance including NCOA updates
- Development and refinement of database structure, features and usage
- Conducts training related to database software
- Process Management
- Develops, implements and documents Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for database operations: batch review, RE coding, duplicate record search, data entry, acknowledgement letters, centralization of records etc.
- Ensures that data entry is compliant with IRS giving regulations, credit card processing mandates and internal policies
- Collaborates with staff on specific data needs, seeking to improve data integrity and efficiencies whenever possible, including:
- Fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events
- Lists
- Reports
- Print and electronic communications
- Creates reports, imports, exports, queries, and lists as required
- Seeks out opportunities and provides solutions for team members to ease their access to data.
- Proactively offers solutions to business challenges through use of data
- Database Administration
- Ensures proper security is in place to protect confidential data
- Responsible for the design, implementation, training, and support of Raiser’s Edge, RE NXT, and other data programs.
- Enhances and regularly maintains the data structure throughout Raiser’s Edge and NXT, including attributes, code tables and business rules
- Ensures all staff have the appropriate level of training on data systems and provides regular updates on best practices.
- Maintains vendor relationships
- Manages matching gift program

Physical Demands
Must be able to concentrate and remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects. Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 10-15 lbs. Must be able to frequently climb stairs, including up to 4 flights, and frequently walk distances up to approximately 80 yards. Must be able to travel between RMH locations as needed.
