Do you have a passion for data and data management? If so, you’d be a great fit for NAIT’s evolving data governance program! We’re seeking someone who recognizes the value of data to an organization, especially in the areas of data quality, data literacy, data stewardship, and data definitions. The data governance analyst also provides the Institute support through supporting the resolution of data issues across multi-disciplinary departments at the Institute, with patience and dedication. Our successful candidate is also eager to learn about data governance and invested in growing a skillset to help develop the Institute’s data governance program. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaising and collaborating with functional areas and colleagues to gather information and perform analysis on data issues and develop/facilitate remediation recommendations, as appropriate.
  2. Documentation, monitoring, and tracking of data issues, data standards, and evolving processes for data management, as appropriate.
  3. Assisting in the development and delivering of data governance education and awareness for data stewardship function and data users at the Institute.
  4. Contributes to the development, maintenance, and administration of NAIT's data catalogue, business glossary, and associated tools.
  5. Works with business and ITS staff to obtain data definitions and associated information such as classification.
  6. Provide advice and guidance for records management and data lifecycle principles.
  7. Working with appropriate business and ITS stakeholders (including Legal, and ITS Information Security) to ensure alignment with NAIT's data policies and procedures.

Skills & Abilities:

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Ability to collaborate & influence stakeholders at varying levels and all parts of the business.
  3. Ability to solve complex problems.
  4. Candidate must be self-motivated, organized and analytical.
  5. Aptitude & interest to learn about NAIT business departments.
  6. Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  7. Knowledge of data governance concepts and frameworks, such as DMBoK, non-invasive data governance, etc.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or related field.
  2. CDMP or equivalent is an asset.
  3. Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

Remuneration:

$79,795.82- $105,715.48 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
