THE OPPORTUNITY

Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc. https://totalsystems.ca is seeking a Data Architect – Power BI and Azure to work for our public sector at the Interior Health Authority in the Province of British Columbia. You must be available 100% to work remote part-time 12 hours per week with availability Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm in the Pacific Time Zone. For the occasional visit to the office, expenses will be paid by Interior Health Authority (Receipts must be provided).

The consultant is expected to start January 2025 and the contract length is 3 months.

Project Context

Interior Health (IH) requires senior consulting resources to assist and support the transition of data from our current SAP reporting environment to the Microsoft Power BI and Azure platform. The Azure architecture has been developed and the infrastructure has been implemented for our Dev, UAT, and PROD environments.

Devops is used for task management and deployment.

Service Required

Interior Health (IH) requires senior consulting resources to augment our team to assist and support the transition of data from our current SAP reporting environment to the Microsoft Power BI and Azure platform. This work is underway but we have identified a temporary need for additional resources at this time.

IH requires assistance and support from senior Data Architect consultants (2) to work alongside the IH Data Platforms team to provide consultation and development in the following areas:

• Analyze the requirements for identified data elements
• Build Dimension Model
• Identify existing source queries/transformation for the data required
• Document requirements/solutions in the data modeling tool (dbSchema)
• Update tasks in Devops

All tasks and deliverables will be at the direction of IH.

Work to start in January 2025 with contract ending no later than March 31, 2025; however, hours will be front-loaded. We are not looking to have hours distributed to March 2025. That is the maximum end date of this SOW. We have some flexibility but would be looking for a minimum of 12 hours plus per week, depending on sprint planning and readiness of areas to be modeled.

Consultant Qualifications

• Microsoft Silver or Gold Partners
• Demonstrated experience building and delivering large data and analytics projects using Microsoft Azure Analytics stack
• Microsoft Power BI Certification (or equivalent)
• Experience and knowledge migrating from SAP Universes to Azure
• Proven excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Healthcare experience
• Devops experience

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: Up to $120.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
