Data Architect/Modeller - Senior

Role: Data Architect/Modeller - Senior

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months Contract With possible extension.

Data Architecture Experience: 50%

1. Develops and supports data architecture for prototype and program development in a complex and distributed environment, including the determination of the flow and distribution of data, the location of databases, and data access methods.
2. Provides a standard common business vocabulary, expresses strategic data requirements, outlines high level integrated designs to meet these requirements, and aligns with the enterprise strategy and related business architecture.
3. Collaborates with diverse and complex stakeholders to ensure alignment of data architecture with enterprise goals and compliance requirements.
4. Breadth and depth of relevant career experience.
5. Breadth and depth of public sector and/or health sectors.

General Skills and Experience: 30%

1. Knowledge and experience in information resource management tools and techniques.
2. Experience with at least two different platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, languages, and communications protocols.
3. Knowledge of performance considerations for different database designs in different environments.
4. Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, and implementation of applications.
5. Experience in systems analysis and design in large or medium systems environments.
6. Strong knowledge of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and database technologies.
7. Experience in the use of tools for the development and documentation of data architectures and detailed data models.
8. Experience in the use of data modeling methods and tools (e.g. VISIO, PowerDesigner) including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries.
9. Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and directions.
10. Experience in monitoring and enforcing data modeling/normalization standards.
11. Experience with big data technologies and knowledge of data privacy regulations within the health domain.
12. Expertise in data mesh and/or data fabric concepts.

5. Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
6. Experience creating detailed data standards to enable integration with other systems.
7. Knowledge and understanding of dimensional and relational data models.
