OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:As part of the SAP Modernization project, the Data Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing, optimizing, and refining data processes to ensure smooth system integration and effective decision-making.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:- Assess and understand existing ECC data extract scripts and transactions across multiple sectors.
- Analyze the S4 Hana build to determine required transactions for inclusion or exclusion in the data migration to Ariba Spend.
- Recommend and implement changes to enhance the data transfer process from S4 Hana to Ariba Spend.
- Collaborate with Procurement Services and external partners to ensure an accurate and efficient data flow.
- Propose and implement refinements to data flow and classifications to align with spend analysis goals.
- Update S4 extract criteria using Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG).
- Revise Ariba Spend classification rules to reflect master data changes in S4 Hana.
- Develop or update classification mappings, including document types, material types, cost centers, GL changes, and other critical data points.
- Ensure accurate mapping of records to Ariba’s Custom Taxonomy and Procurement Services’ custom taxonomies.
- Identify opportunities for new classifications within the S4 Hana environment and recommend improvements.
- Document key decisions, processes, SOPs, and procedures related to data transfer and classification rules.
- Update spend analysis reports, tools, and classifications to support ongoing analysis within the project’s scope.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:Required Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP project delivery or as a Data Analyst.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in data analysis and report development using SAP and related analytics tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work with complex datasets, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights for system upgrades or migrations.
- Experience working with Finance and Procurement data in a professional setting.
- Proven track record of working in agile IT project environments with tight deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of integration points in the SAP ecosystem.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on identifying anomalies in large datasets.
Desired Qualifications:- Expertise in Ariba Spend Analysis.
- Experience with process management using SAP Solution Manager.
Location and Work Environment:- This is a hybrid role based in Halifax, requiring a mix of on-site and remote work. The candidate should be available to work on-site as needed to support project requirements.
