Data Analyst- Remediation

Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for a Data Analytics / Remediation for their Toronto, ON/Hybrid location.

Responsibilities:

• Team meeting first thing in the morning
• Communicating with the team on status of their work
• Coordinating with team members regarding their tasks
• Data remediation, analysis, interpretation
• Communicating data findings to stakeholders
• Managing and analyzing large data sets
• Running reconciliation
• Identifying discrepancies and analyzing the issue
• Communicating effectively to the manager regarding issues that arose from the reconciliation process
• Taking initiative to take on stretch assignments
• Process improvement
• Remediation of large unstructured and structured data to ensure accuracy and consistency across various source systems
• Identifying opportunities to automate and streamline data reconciliation, remediation, and business processes, using tools such as Python and RPA
• Achieving an exceptional standard of error-free data processing to mitigate risk to client (i.e., reputational, financial, regulatory, operational risk)
• Empathizing and resolving challenges with business partners by understanding their data needs
• Achieving business objectives by completing project-based tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Helping build a positive, diverse and equitable work environment by promoting team effectiveness with transparency and accountability
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders
• Demonstrating client Framework and shared commitments in daily activities

Requirements:

• Python – coding and debugging existing scripts
• Excel - proficient using Excel on a daily basis - v-lookup, data analysis
• Strong communication skills as coordination with stakeholders and team is essential
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes
• Experience in data remediation, analysis, interpretation, visualization, and communication
• 3-5 years relevant work experience
• Familiarity with Alteryx
• Knowledge of Bloomberg
• Operations knowledge (AML (GoldTier), Account, SSI Setup)
• Experience with Dremio
• Familiarity with API/ETL processes
• Understanding of capital markets terminology, industry standard client databases (BBG, GLEIF), and corporate structures
• Technical expertise in analyzing and remediating datasets using tools such as Excel, Python, RPA, and Alteryx
• A strategic thinker who can suggest creative solutions to various business initiatives
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills required to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Ability to deliver legendary service while adhering to strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to take initiative and solve problems quickly and effectively
• A strong communicator who can effectively collaborate with business partners across the firm
