Data Analyst

We are recruiting for a Data Analyst. This is a full-time position.
This non-unionized position will provide data analysis and other support with respect to quality assurance functions within the agency. As part of the greater support team, this position plays a vital role in the behind-the-scenes workings of the agency.
General Responsibilities:
- Extract, validate, and transform data from various sources to prepare reports that support decision-making.
- Create ad-hoc reports and analytical products as needed in a timely, accurate manner and assist with related tasks.
- Edit existing report content to support quality assurance within the agency.
- Train users and create end-user documentation, incorporating business harmonization practices to ensure data accuracy.
- Coordinate and facilitate agency file reviews, compile results, and report findings.
- Provide internal and external customer service to staff, clients, resource families, community partners, and other agencies.
- Attend agency committee, team, and all-staff meetings.
- Support special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the quality assurance supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or three-year college diploma in business, computer science, mathematics, statistics, quality assurance, or a related field.
- Two years of related work experience.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- Ability to present complex material, plan programs, facilitate teams, and apply adult learning fundamentals.
- Experience with quality improvement and formal change management methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; skilled in other Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Cognos, Power BI, Tableau).
- Aptitude for learning new applications and supporting staff in a help desk capacity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to handle large data sets with accuracy.
- Skilled in query creation, report writing, and presenting findings.
- Commitment to data integrity and quality assurance.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication, confidentiality, and professionalism in a social services context.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to identify systemic barriers to equity and apply an anti-oppressive lens to work.
- Demonstrated experience or understanding of working within provincial legislation, regulations, and commitment to supporting compliance with legislative requirements in accordance with the Child Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA) and other legislation.
- Understanding of CYFSA, Signs of Safety, Anti-Oppressive Practice, and Strength-Based approaches an asset.
